Miragliotta Giovanni

Full Professor

Born in 1973, he graduated in Management Engineering, cum laude, in 1998 at Politecnico di Milano, with a Master Thesis about “Strategic Stocks sizing through uncertainty deployment”.

After a visiting period at UCLA, he got is PhD in Management Engineering in 2003, from Politecnico di Milano, with a PhD dissertation about “Techniques and tools for multisite production management”.

Currently he is Associate professor, teaching Industrial Plants Design and Advanced Supply Chain Planning, respectively to BS and MS students.

He is core faculty member of Polimi GSOM, co-director of three Observatories (Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, Artificial Intelligence) and co-director of the IoTLab.

Master of Science: Management Engineering, Politecnico di Milano.

Research

His research interests are at the intersection of Operations & Supply Chain Management and New Digital Technologies (Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Analytics and Artificial Intelligence).

More in details, his research is focused on information sharing, supply chain tracking and visibility, energy optimization, digital skills and information asset performance assessment in the context of Industry 4.0 adoption.

Given his interest in technology innovation, he also focused on minor research topis such as IoT applications to smart city or digital innovation in multi-channel customer experience.

On these topics, he has 29 Scopus indexed publications (H-factor=13).
