The Department aims to build collaborative relationships with businesses and public institutions, both on a continuous basis and for specific projects. The forms of collaboration are varied to meet the needs of the specific project.

Partnerships with companies

The Department's research activities are often conducted in close collaboration with businesses, institutions, and non-profit organizations. This can happen informally through direct contact with researchers, or formally through the participation of businesses in competitively funded projects.

At the same time, various stakeholders approach the Department to address their specific or long-term innovation and research needs, thereby funding applied research activities.

Experimental research

The Department's laboratories are available to its partners for developing technical consulting, conducting scientific research, and carrying out tests and experiments.

Collaborations in the educational field

The Department's faculty collaborate with businesses, institutions, and non-profit organizations to provide students in undergraduate and doctoral programs with formative experiences that put them in direct contact with the outside world.

Typical forms of collaboration include the development of theses within companies. The Department encourages the development of thesis projects in collaboration with businesses and institutions as part of curricular internships, in order to promote the application of skills acquired during studies to real-world cases.
