Opportunità e PREvenzione con la RAppresentanza nella trasformazione digitale - Costruire insieme nuove tutele per la salute e sicurezza al tempo dei sistemi digitali complessi

The OPeRA project aims to critically analyze the impact of digitalization and the introduction of complex digital systems—including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI (GenAI), and Agentic AI tools—on occupational health and safety in the workplace. Its objective is to identify emerging risks and prevention opportunities while strengthening participatory prevention models within contemporary organizational contexts.

Project activities include a review of the scientific and regulatory literature, the development of case studies across eight different industrial sectors, and the engagement of companies, workers, workers’ representatives, and other relevant stakeholders. The project will also apply a Delphi methodology to jointly define evidence-based recommendations and intervention priorities, supporting a fair, safe, and inclusive digital transition.

The Politecnico di Milano, as project coordinator, together with the Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering (DIG), is responsible for project management and coordination, the development of the theoretical framework, the design and validation of the qualitative research methodology, and the dissemination of project results.

The consortium includes EURES, Fondazione Giuseppe Di Vittorio, and IAL Nazionale – Innovazione Apprendimento Lavoro S.r.l. Impresa Sociale, in collaboration with the Italian trade unions CGIL, CISL, and UIL, and with the support of the DIMEILA Department of INAIL.

The project seeks to generate scientific evidence and operational recommendations to support risk management policies and practices in the era of digital transformation, contributing to enhanced protection of workers’ health and safety.

This research is a continuation of the BRIC IMPACT 1 and 2, PrePaRa, and INCHIESTA RLS projects (https://series.francoangeli.it/index.php/oa/catalog/book/1621 (https://series.francoangeli.it/index.php/oa/catalog/book/1621)), funded by INAIL.
