DEPLOYTOUR - Deployment of the European Tourism Data Space
Website's Project
In the framework of the European Digital Europe Programme, supported by the European Commission, DEPLOYTOUR is a 3 year project launched in October 2024 which aims to develop a trusted Common European Tourism Data Space (ETDS).
It is built on the blueprint developed by two preparatory actions for the European Tourism Data Space DATES and DSFT.
DEPLOYTOUR is a strategic initiative to boost the competitiveness, sustainability, and resilience of the tourism sector. It addresses the challenges of fragmented and inaccessible tourism data by enhancing access to information, empowering SMEs and DMOs in their digital and green transition, and fostering innovative practices, upskilling, and productivity for a stronger and more sustainable industry.
It supports the ETDS initiative through:
- Technical infrastructure (Developing and deploying the infrastructure of the Common Tourism European Data Space)
- Governance framework (Establishing the rules and roles of the different stakeholders involved in the governance of the future ETDS)
- Real-life implementation projects (Deploying 5 use case pilots to show the tangible advantages of the ETDS and its impact on the European tourism sector)
- Synergies and connections (Ensuring interoperability, transversality, complementarity and synergies with other data and tourism initiatives)
The Travel Innovation Observatory of the School of Management of the Politecnico di Milano is a partner in the project with the role of coordinator of the work package related to the implementation of the five pilot projects that will be used to launch the dataspace and test its model with the ultimate goal of fostering the entry of new users once it is fully operational.
The Observatory is directed by Eleonora Lorenzini and Filippo Maria Renga and is part of the Digital Innovation Observatories group afferent to the Department of Management Engineering.
Theproject is co-funded by the European Union.
