Ranking

The Master of Science in Management Engineering programme at Politecnico di Milano has once again been recognised as one of the world's leading management programmes in the latest Financial Times Masters in Management Ranking, placing 52nd globally and 43rd in Europe.

This result consolidates the programme’s international standing, with significant progress made across several ranking indicators, particularly in terms of career development, the alumni network, and education on ESG and net zero topics.

The Financial Times ranking evaluates the world's top management programmes based on various criteria, such as graduates' career and salary progression, employability, quality of career services and alumni networks, internationalisation, diversity, and sustainability.

Key strengths in the 2026 edition

One of the most significant results is the Career Progress Rank, which measures alumni career progression. Politecnico di Milano has improved by three positions compared with 2025, entering the global top 20 for this indicator and ranking 19th worldwide.

The result for the Alumni Network Rank is also particularly noteworthy, representing one of the most significant improvements in the 2026 edition. The programme rose from 54th to 40th place, gaining 14 positions in one year. This highlights the value of the Alumni Network in fostering professional opportunities and networking, as well as career development.

The Weighted Salary, which is the average salary of graduates three years after graduation, has also increased, rising from USD 72,682 to USD 73,568.

Another significant improvement concerns sustainability. In the ESG and Net Zero Teaching Indicator, which assesses the integration of ESG- and Net Zero-related topics into the curriculum, Politecnico di Milano rose from 80th to 63rd place, gaining 17 positions.

The University has also confirmed its position as one of the world’s leading institutions for Carbon Footprint, ranking 5th globally. This reflects its ongoing commitment to policies and initiatives that aim to reduce environmental impact.

Other positive results include an improvement in the Value for Money Rank, which highlights the programme’s competitiveness in terms of the ratio between the investment required for the course and the professional and financial outcomes. This rank has improved from 25th to 24th place. Meanwhile, the proportion of female students has increased from 38% to 39%, while female representation on the board has reached 50%.

A result that looks to the future

The position achieved in the 2026 ranking, and the progress recorded across several key indicators, confirms Politecnico di Milano’s ongoing commitment to providing a high-quality educational experience. This experience equips students with the managerial, technological, and interdisciplinary skills that are increasingly required in an ever-evolving global professional environment.

The results in terms of career progression and the Alumni Network also highlight the ongoing impact of the programme, supporting the professional development of alumni and strengthening an international community of professionals.

Meanwhile, the significant progress in ESG and Net Zero reflects the increasing incorporation of sustainability into the education of future management engineers, equipping them to tackle the increasingly complex technological, economic, and environmental changes they will face.
