Researcher
Laura Grassi is a professor of Investment Banking and Finance Lab courses at Politecnico di Milano, where she is also a Senior Assistant Professor.
In her role as Head of the Fintech and Insurtech Observatory, she is involved in research on financial incumbents and startups, with a particular emphasis on Europe as well as on international markets.
She is also Director of the evening Executive MBA programme at Politecnico’s business school, POLIMI Graduate School of Management.
Students are important to her, and she strongly encourages them to participate in international competitions, such as the CFA Institute Research Challenge, where they have reached the world finals on numerous occasions (among the five top universities worldwide out of 1,100 participants).
After attending conferences, congresses, Horizon project meetings (recently winning a funded project on climate insurance) and being frequently involved in research abroad, she always tries to return home as soon as she can to be with her family.

Research
Her main research interest is in innovation and digitalization of the financial industry (Fintech and Insurtech), with a strong focus on strategical implications, business models and valuation, implementing both quantitative and qualitative methods.
