RE4DY - European Data as a PRoduct Value Ecosystems for Resilient Factory 4.0 Product and ProDuction ContinuitY and Sustainability

As part of the green, circular and digital transformation of the European manufacturing community, it is paramount that data-driven digital manufacturing processes incorporate innovative and proactive resilience strategies at the manufacturing and supply chain level to maintain their level of sovereignty and competitiveness, while respecting European digital values (excellence, privacy, trust) to enhance individual and value chain flexibility.

In order to achieve long-term resilience to reorganise supply chains or accelerate decision making to cope with any disruption, it is imperative to ensure the implementation of distributed, intelligent and dynamic industrial decision support, augmentation and automation processes, integrating artificial intelligence (intelligent anticipation) and intelligent automation (rapid response) capabilities into the human-automation symbiosis.

Only companies that can articulate their data, based on AI solutions, digital threads and digital twins, will be able to respond quickly to external shocks.

RE4DY's mission is to demonstrate that European industry can collectively build unique data-driven Digital 4.0 value networks to support competitive advantage through digital continuity and sovereign data spaces at all stages of the product and process lifecycle by proposing data as a core product concept to facilitate the implementation of digital continuity through digital threads, data spaces, digital twin workflows and AI/ML/data pipelines.

This concept leverages the resilience of advanced digital manufacturing processes and value ecosystems that support the development and implementation of digital continuity, so that distributed data management solutions implemented to address factory resilience can be immediately and seamlessly reused to enhance connected factory and value network processes.
