MAASive - Manufacturing as a service to increase resilience in value networks
Traditional value chains face the challenges of rapidly changing markets, variable customer demands and unpredictable production and logistics. To address these challenges, the concept of Manufacturing as a Service (MaaS) is introduced, which leverages existing resources in a value network by connecting manufacturers to on-demand service providers through an interconnected network.
The MAASive project aims to develop value network models that enable companies to recover quickly from unexpected external events. This is done by connecting to new services and reconfiguring value networks using internal and external production services. MAASive will provide a toolkit for industry consisting of a combination of existing methods and technologies used in the context of MaaS and new models and technologies developed during the project.
MAASive focuses on four different aspects to increase the resilience of value networks:
- network construction
- impact assessment
- network reorganisation
- value network operation
The main objective is to improve the resilience of the value network, enabling producers to respond quickly to unexpected external events or sudden changes in demand or supply, using production as a service.
The results of the MAASive project will help to make companies more resilient to external and unexpected events, allowing them to use better and faster services within a value network, while increasing the efficiency of the use of network resources.
