Over the past decade, digital solutions for agriculture have generated enthusiasm and encouraged investment to improve the sector's economic and environmental performance.

However, their adoption by small and medium sized farmers in the EU has not kept pace due to cost constraints, compatibility issues and resistance to change.

The EU-funded Farmtopia project aims to reverse this trend by developing a ground-breaking, farmer-led, synergistic approach that promotes the creation of cost-effective digital solutions for agriculture tailored to the specific needs of small farms.

By involving both farmers and solution providers in the implementation process and introducing innovative business models, Farmtopia significantly reduces costs for both parties, making adoption affordable and sustainable.

This initiative prioritises strategic crops and farms in 15 European countries, making a significant contribution to digital transformation, resilience and food security.
