The Lab, dedicated to Prof. Marco Garetti, aims at investigating the evolving and complex relationship between people and technologies, designing new models and processes for the development and adoption of technologies supporting the transition towards sustainable industrial systems attentive to individual and collective well-being.
The new Lab, completely renovated in terms of space and enhanced in research equipment, carrying forward the legacy of skills and studies conducted as Industry 4.0, will lead cutting-edge research on the digitalization of manufacturing and logistics systems (Industry X.0), to be studied and designed consideringthe most innovative cognitive ergonomic aspects. Unique is the setting, where a best-of-breed Teaching & Learning Factory is equipped with advanced sensor equipment to analyze human cognitive and physiological reactions to human-technology interaction during typical manufacturing, service and logistics work activities.
The renovation of the Lab was funded by the HumanTech project – “Departments of Excellence 2023–27” (MUR), the Commissione Spazi Lavoro of the Politecnico di Milano, and the PNRR Extended Partnership MICS (Made In Italy Circolare e Sostenibile).
