The Politecnico di Milano has once again been recognised among the world's leading universities in the 2026 edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject, ranking 6th globally in Architecture and the Built Environment, 7th in Design and 20th in Engineering and Technology. Also noteworthy are the 14th-place rankings in Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering, and in Civil and Structural Engineering.
"The QS Rankings remain an important indicator: they not only measure our reputation and standing, but also influence people’s choices. This year’s edition confirms the soundness of a strategy developed over time: strengthening our international dimension, innovating teaching methodologies, consolidating our relationship with industry, and integrating basic and applied research. In a geopolitical and economic context where technology is a key factor, being among the top twenty universities in the world means we can measure ourselves against the major global players on increasingly complex challenges - challenges that require an interdisciplinary approach, which the Politecnico di Milano has chosen to promote with conviction."
Donatella Sciuto, Rector of Politecnico di Milano
