Festival dell’Ingegneria – fifth edition

The Politecnico di Milano event will return to the Bovisa and Leonardo Campus for the fifth time from 19 to 21 September 2025: three days of meetings, discoveries, visits and shows to tell adults and children about life in the laboratory, current research and the future of science.

Following the huge success of previous editions, the festival returns with the theme “Technology for Humanity”, divided into five categories: DREAM, GROW, MAKE, MOVE and PLAY. Each area is dedicated to a different aspect of technology as a tool for building the future.

The programme includes conferences, lectures, talks, open workshops, activities for children and teenagers, exhibition stands, shows and exhibitions. It is a unique opportunity to discover firsthand how engineering and innovation are transforming society and opening up new opportunities and frontiers for development.

The event will take place on both Politecnico campuses, with free admission; however, some activities require reservations.

The Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering will also participate with initiatives designed to engage and stimulate the curiosity of all ages:

Geopolitical Scenarios and AI

KIDS EVENTS

Facereader

Saturday, 20 September, starting at 10:00 a.m.

Facereader is software that recognises emotional expressions on the face. It is particularly suitable for young children as it is contactless technology. Children can have fun imitating different emotions, such as happiness, fear and disgust, and the software will give them a 'skill' score between 0% and 100%.

The event is organised by Professor Lucio Lamberti and Maurizio Mauri from the Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering.

Let's experience the future

Saturday, September 20, at 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

An immersive experience that combines the real and virtual worlds to discover—through play—the logic of industry. The activities offered will allow children to experience production processes firsthand, alternating between “hands-on” and digital activities.

Curated by Professors Walter Quadrini and Adalberto Polenghi, Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering (DIG).
