Festival dell’Ingegneria – fourth edition

The Politecnico di Milano event will return to the Bovisa Campus for the fourth time from 13 to 15 September 2024: three days of meetings, discoveries, visits and shows to tell adults and children about life in the laboratory, current research and the future of science.
Following the success of previous years, the Politecnico di Milano is organising the fourth edition of the Festival dedicated to Engineering, during which teachers and researchers will tell adults and children about life in the laboratory and the many achievements.
The 2024 edition, under the motto "Technology for Humanity", is divided into five themes: DREAM, GROW, MAKE, MOVE, PLAY, each focusing on different aspects of technology as a key element of tomorrow.
Three days of initiatives: conferences, meetings, lectures, talks, open workshops, activities for children and young people, stands, shows and exhibitions to understand how technology is reshaping our society and to discover the many opportunities, innovations and new frontiers of engineering.
The festival will take place at the Bovisa Campus and admission is free, although some activities require a reservation.
The Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering will also participate in the festival and open its laboratories: BRIEL (Behavioural Research in Immersive Environment), CORE (Cognitive Ergonomics in Cyber Physical Systems) and IoT Lab (Internet of Things).
In the category 'DIVULGATIVE LECTURES' in the theme track 'Make - Technology as a vehicle for the discovery of making', Prof. Matthias Klumpp will give the lecture 'Working Minds' - The analysis of human cognitive workload in manufacturing operations on Saturday 14 September from 11am to 12pm.
The talk will explore how a neuroscientific approach can be applied to industrial engineering to better understand workers' experience and promote their well-being within production environments.
